According to a statement, Egypt’s Minister of Oil and Minerals, Karim Badawi, unveiled the main natural gas station operated by TAQA Gas Company, which supplies natural gas to El Kharga City in New Valley Province.
Details of the natural gas station project have been disclosed
This natural gas station supplies natural gas through a permanent decompression station, a vehicle gas station and a vehicle natural gas modification center. Reda Abdel Rahman, the deputy managing director of TAQA Gas Company, emphasized that the capacity of the main station is 2,500 standard cubic meters per hour (SCm³/h) and can be expanded to 5,000 standard cubic meters per hour. He added that 270,000 meters of medium and low pressure pipelines have been installed and natural gas has been supplied so far.
In the first stage, the number of connected residential customers reached 5,750. The goal for the second stage is to increase it by another 8,300. In addition, six municipal bakeries have been renovated in the first phase, and another 24 are planned to be renovated in the second phase. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles that have been converted to operate with natural gas has reached 409.

This project reflects the close cooperation among the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt, Egypt General Petroleum Company (EGPC), New Valley Province and the private sector. The operation of this natural gas station will have a positive impact on the energy supply for the residents’ lives, business activities and transportation in the city of El Halga, Nova Vale Province, and further promote the local energy development and economic construction.
