U.S. fuel ethanol production increased by 2% in the week ending April 18, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released on April 23. However, ethanol exports saw a significant decline, down 45%, while weekly ending stocks dropped by 5%.
During the week ending April 18, production averaged 1.033 million barrels per day, up by 21,000 barrels from the previous week’s 1.012 million barrels per day. Compared to the same week in 2024, production rose by 79,000 barrels per day.
Ethanol stocks fell to 25.481 million barrels by April 18, a decrease of 1.333 million barrels from the prior week’s 26.814 million barrels. Year-over-year, stocks were down by 252,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 75,000 barrels per day for the week, down 62,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 137,000 barrels per day. Compared to the same week last year, exports were down by 59,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending April 18.
